Do money worries keep creeping into your daily thoughts?

As you’re out walking?

Working in the garden?

Laying in bed trying to get to sleep?

The thing about having money worries is that it can be very draining and energy sapping can’t it?

I very clearly remember laying awake at night worrying about not having enough money to pay the bills.

One specific incident always comes to mind when I look back at that time. It was a winter weekend and I was exhausted after not getting much sleep the night before. I was sitting in the kitchen on a chair in front of the washing machine.

The door seal was broken and so would leak water all over the kitchen floor when washing clothes. So I had to sit on that chair with my feet up and pushing on the washing machine door in order to stop it leaking water everywhere.

I couldn’t afford to get the door fixed until the end of the month when I next got paid. Even then it might not happen because other bills were mounting up as well.

So I sat there in the kitchen with my feet pressing on the door until the wash cycle ended. And I did that every time we needed to do a wash, for several…
