Why Be Ingrained in the ‘9 to 5’ When You Can Choose Freedom Instead?

Alma Bay Here On Magnetic Island

It’s so easy to become so ingrained in the 9 to 5 (or the hunt for a new 9 to 5) that we never give a second thought to what it is that we might actually LIKE to do.

We plunge ahead, going through the motions every day, flying a desk, or whatever job we are doing just to bring in the bacon and wishing we weren’t and so the possibilities of an alternative lifestyle never even get considered.

We’ll go on vacation and spend the first few days worrying about what we’ve left behind at work and the last few days wondering what we’ll go back to.

In the middle bit of the holiday when we actually do allow ourselves to switch off for just a little while, we will think to ourselves, “You know what? I think I could live here.”

Then before we know it, that fleeting thought is as close as we ever get to actually doing something about changing things in our life and actually moving towards living a less stressful, happier and more fulfilled way of life for ourselves and our family.

For me it took a suspected heart attack to pull me up short and finally take stock.

When you do something you love doing instead, you get to enjoy every day of your life instead of watching it just disappear in soul-sucking sameness.

So make it your goal to finally discover what your own alternative lifestyle could look like for you.
